Both within the last week or so I have encountered the Google re-direct issue that I have noticed there is a lot of talk about. I downloaded Ad Aware and it cleaned some files off of my computer but the re-direct issue still existed.

There are also random times where when I click a link on a website, I have three or four new tabs pop up with re-directs to websites that don't seem to exist (IE the link is broken). This does not happen all the time, just on random occasions.

95% of the time when I click a link on Google I get re-directed to a different page - usually one filled with advertisements. I have had to right click the link and Open in a New Tab to get to the webpage I actually wanted to visit.

After I developed these problems, I thought it might be a Firefox issue so I un-installed it and downloaded Google Chrome. I have been using that ever since but the same issues remain. As a result, I downloaded the new Firefox again and I am having the same issues regardless of what browser I use.

My other problem is with my laptop failing to Hibernate. This began occurring around (although I can't pinpoint the exact time) the same time I had the Google re-direct issues. When I try to put my computer in Hibernate mode it goes to the Windows screen and says Hibernating and then quickly brings me back to my Desktop. I have lost battery power several times as a result by thinking my computer was hibernating overnight when it was actually still running without being plugged in.

I do not know if these two issues correlate with each other or not. If they are separate issues than I can bring one to another forum or open another topic up. I just want to give you as much information as possible. Thank you.

Hi,

My name is Syler and I will be helping you to solve your Malware issues. If you have since resolved your issues I would appreciate if you
would let me no so I can close this topic, if you still need help please let me no what issues you are still having, in your next reply.

We apologize for the delay in responding to your request for help. Here at Bleeping Computer we get overwhelmed at times, and
we are trying our best to keep up.

We need to create an OTL Report
  • Please download OTL from one of the following mirrors:
  • Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the Posted Image icon on your desktop.
  • Click the "Scan All Users" checkbox.
  • Under the Custom Scans/Fixes box at the bottom, paste in the following bold text.
    %SYSTEMDRIVE%\*.exe
    /md5start
    eventlog.dll
    scecli.dll
    netlogon.dll
    cngaudit.dll
    sceclt.dll
    ntelogon.dll
    logevent.dll
    iaStor.sys
    nvstor.sys
    atapi.sys
    IdeChnDr.sys
    viasraid.sys
    AGP440.sys
    vaxscsi.sys
    nvatabus.sys
    viamraid.sys
    nvata.sys
    nvgts.sys
    iastorv.sys
    ViPrt.sys
    /md5stop
    CREATERESTOREPOINT

  • Push the Posted Image button.
  • Two reports will open, copy and paste them in a reply here:
    • OTL.txt <-- Will be opened
    • Extra.txt <-- Will be minimized

Then please post back here with the following logs:
  • OTL.txt
  • Extra.txt
Thanks
