I am attempting to repair a friend's computer - I am unable to browse out to any anti-virus, spyware, etc., websites and according to my friend occasionally there will be popups out of nowhere which I've not yet experienced. I've followed the steps here on this website for the log file below :

  • Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the Posted Image icon on your desktop.
  • Click the "Scan All Users" checkbox.
  • Under the Custom Scans/Fixes box at the bottom, paste in the following bold text.
    %SYSTEMDRIVE%\*.exe
    /md5start
    eventlog.dll
    scecli.dll
    netlogon.dll
    cngaudit.dll
    sceclt.dll
    ntelogon.dll
    logevent.dll
    iaStor.sys
    nvstor.sys
    atapi.sys
    IdeChnDr.sys
    viasraid.sys
    AGP440.sys
    vaxscsi.sys
    nvatabus.sys
    viamraid.sys
    nvata.sys
    nvgts.sys
    iastorv.sys
    ViPrt.sys
    /md5stop
    CREATERESTOREPOINT

  • Push the Posted Image button.
  • Two reports will open, copy and paste them in a reply here:

Thanks for the reply - I was able to resolve the problem by mounting the drive on my Linux box and running avast! for Linux which found the Trojan and removed it. I experienced some minor driver problems which I was able to quickly resolve.

The laptop now has the appropriate anti-virus and spyware removal tools which apparently was the problem to begin with.
