Hello again everyone!

My laptops' drive is almost dead.

Look how it goes, all my life I had desktop comp and I wouldnt even ask for advice on hard drive since I dont have that many options.

My drive is Toshiba: http://computers.pricegrabber.com/hard-dri.../m17532716.html

It is 5400 RPM 2,5'' and that's all I know lol.

I mean, what's pATA and whats sATA? My device is "listed" as IDE ATA.

And it says that is "Slim" drive. Should I get a disk to fit the caddie or a disk with a new caddie?

Could I unplug it myself? I have done some work to change my RAMs and with my desktop PC almost all peripherals are changed by myself.

Can you suggest a drive?

I could buy a same Toshiba but It's a bit expensive for me right now. I like seagate and Quantums and I can't say that I need more that 5400 RPM...

Help help and thank you so much!

PATA is IDE ATA.

Could I unplug it myself?

Yes, it is only secured, to the laptop by one, possibly two screws
All you need to be concerned about is that it is a 2.5 drive with an IDE [Pata] interface
