Just recently, I've been unable to play any games that support multiplayer. They don't function even with my firewall (Kerio Personal Firewall 4) turned off. The games that aren't working thus far include but are not limited to: Battlefield 1942, the Battlefield 2 Demo, Wolfenstein Enemy Territory, and Starcraft. My specs are:

Pentium IV 2.8 Ghz
512 DDR RAM
ATI Radeon X300
Windows XP

I'm using SBC Yahoo DSL. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have the Windows firewall turned off also?
Have you installed anything that might have caused this?

John

Yes, my windows firewall is turned off. I don't think i've installed anything that would do this. I run spyware and virus checks regularly as well.

This is what happens with each of the games:

Battlefield 1942: No servers or multiplayer games show up. Clicking update will freeze the screen for about 10 or 15 seconds. Then, nothing shows up.

Battlefield 2 Demo: When I try to create an EA account I get the message "The server refused the connection"

Starcraft: When connecting to battle.net, the game jumps to "searching for fastest server and will hang for 30 seconds or so." Something to the extent of "cannot connect to battle.net" shows up.

Wolfenstein Enemy Territory: No multiplayer games show up.

All games are updated to their latest versions.

I am connected to a 2WIRE modem/wireless router. My PC isn't connected to any others.

I was wondering, my PC has been able to play MP games before, why have they stopped functioning now? If port forwarding is the problem, why did it work before?

Port forwarding does not seem to be the problem. I've set my modem/router to always run DX9 games and Starcraft, but I've had no luck. Any ideas?

EDIT:

A friend of mine just helped me out. It looks like I was doing port forwarding incorrectly. The problem is solved and I'm now able to play.

Thanks for all your help.
