A program I may no longer have introduced a configuration setting to open My Computer when you log on. It happens every time & the default settings are not apparent in control panel. Is there a safe way to go back to original settings without system restore.

What program was that?

Go to Start>Run and type in msconfig. Look under the startup tab and see if it is listed there. If it is, uncheck it. You can compare the programs in the Startup tab with the recommendations found in our Startup Database found at the top of this page.
