Hi all
I'm building my first machine(veryy cheap),and plan on installing my first linux distro
(I'm pretty excited!!!) :flowers: :trumpet:

I assume I'm in a similar position as many linux noobs, in the sense that I'm very interested in programming and having complete control of my system, but also don't know a lot about it (yet, i have some classes this fall)

I'd like to know how much about programming i should know,or any tutorials i should read prior to getting started.

sorry if it seems like people are continually asking this of you pros, however, at risk of being redundant I'm posting 'er anyways haha

No programming knowledge is needed to start using linux...I've been using it for a couple years and still have none.
However, some familiarity with command line helps considerably.
