Hi,
I was wondering if there are some a/v downloads or online scans that can be done while I wait for my HJT Post to be reviewed. I understand certain programs like Combo-fix are to be used only as directed by a expert Im talking more along the lines of online scanners and programs like SAS and stuff like that. I thought it might be useful if there was a list of suggested programs that are user friendly and can be downloaded or used while waiting for assistance.

DEATHlLINK,

Now that you have an open HJT log posted in the HijackThis Logs and Malware Removal forum, you shouldn't make any changes to your system.
This includes running any other "cleaning" programs.
Doing so, could change the results of the posted log, making it difficult to properly clean your system.

At this point, the HJT Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to send me a PM.

As stated we typically do not want anyone to make any changes to their system becuase then when a helper reviews the logs, any changes you made will not be visible and time could be wasted for everyone. At the same time, this is your computer and as the way can be long at times, if you wish to run some anti-malware programs such as MBAM, SAS, or another antivirus program, please go ahead as it may resolve your issue. All we ask is that if it does solve your issue, please post back to your original topic that your topic can be closed or let a moderator know so they can close the topic.

If after running additional programs, you are still having problems or want your logs reviewed, then please rescan your computer with the requested programs and then post those logs back to your original topic so that the helper has updated logs waiting for him.

Ok understood unfortunately I cant edit my topic to add any new scan results or info and my fear is that if I add a reply the wait time could increase. Basically all I have done is added SAS ran a scan which removed tracking cookies and ran a MBAM scan that found and deleted a autorun.inf . I also wanted to add that I am connected to the internet via a wireless connection and everytime I start up the cpu it shows as identifying my wireless connection (but when I disconnect and reconnect it resolves this) it never use to do this.

Just post your new logs to your topic. It will not affect your wait time as people use an app that shows open logs and yours will still appear open.

I edited your topic so the latest scans are in the first post and deleted the second post
So that just leaves you a single post
