Hello and welcome to Bleeping Computer

We apologize for the delay in responding to your request for help. Here at Bleeping Computer we get overwhelmed at times, and we are trying our best to keep up. Please note that your topic was not intentionally overlooked. Our mission is to help everyone in need, but sometimes it takes just a little longer to get to every request for help. No one is ignored here.

If you have since resolved the original problem you were having, we would appreciate you letting us know. If not please perform the following steps below so we can have a look at the current condition of your machine.

If you have not done so, include a clear description of the problems you're having, along with any steps you may have performed so far.

Upon completing the steps below another staff member will review and take the steps necessary with you to get your machine back in working order clean and free of malware.

If you have already posted a DDS log, please do so again, as your situation may have changed.
Use the 'Add Reply' and add the new log to this thread.

Thanks and again sorry for the delay.

We need to see some information about what is happening in your machine. Please perform the following scan:
  • Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explanation about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results.
  • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.

Dear Blade Zephon

Please don't apologise. I think you guys and gals do a fantastic job. I have run the DDS scan and have attached both the zipped Attach file and the txt file which I also paste below.

Very many thanks for looking after us and a very Merry Christmas and a brilliant New Year to you and all the BC crew.

Kindest regards
Pat Smith

Kindest regards

thanks for getting back to me. Hope your Christmas was a blast. Still recovering over here...

I have asked my Dad-in-law to screen dump any specific problems he experiences and he has sent me a couple to be getting along with. I think his primary issue is connection problems. He has full strength signal values from his internet wifi router to his laptop but say, for example, he's working on a long email (he types slowly) and then attempts to send the message he will have problems in transmitting, having to try six or seven times before it is sent successfully.

I have checked his wifi is working ok on his laptop by using my mobile phone's wifi and it appears fine and he does seem to have a full power strength wifi signal from his router.

Not sure where to go with this. Any help you can offer would be gratefully accepted.

Again, a very Merry Christmas and an even better New Year.

Kindest regards
Pat

Yes, my Christmas was good, thank you :(

If there're no other symptoms then this would probably be better handled on Internet & Networking area of the forum. Let's have one test before it though.

Please run Notepad (start > All Programs > Accessories > Notepad) and copy and paste the text in the quote box into a new file:

@echo off
>Log1.txt (
ipconfig /all
nslookup google.com
ping -n 2 google.com
route print
)
start Log1.txt
del %0

  • Go to the File menu at the top of the Notepad and select Save as.
  • Select save in: desktop
  • Fill in File name: test.bat
  • Save as type: All file types (*.*)
  • Click save.
  • Close the Notepad.
  • Locate and double-click tast.bat on the desktop.
  • A notepad opens, copy and paste the content it (log1.txt) to your reply.
