I recently moved an HP computer with Vista Home Premium closer to the router I use for my home network. This computer was originally connected wirelessly through this router. The original computer I had hard-wired (ethernet cable?) to this router had much faster download(?) speeds that any of my wirelessly connected computers. I connected the ethernet cable to the new HP computer, however I still seem to connect to the internet wirelessly via the router. Is there a way to configure my internet connection to go through the ethernet cable? Hopefully, this would allow for a much faster connection. Thank you for any help you guys can offer.

By default Windows uses the wireless connection when available rather then the wired. Open up the network connection folder. Right click on the wireless connection and select disable.
