Hello I want to buy a new computer that is cheap so i found these on new egg:

Asus: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16883220020
Compaq: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16883109036

My choice would be the Compaq. Almost based solely on the size of the case

better brand that won't wont have problems such as freezing, booting up, etc...

Unfortunately those problems are never brand-specific

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around

ASUS is the better brand but I think with those specific models, the Compaq would be a better choice.

As G mentioned. Go with the Compaq.

I have seen many different brands of PCs in that small form factor self destruct from heat.
