Hello friends...

i had installed this powerfull tool combofix.exe and it solved my problem..

now when i tried to delete it...i found that it was being used by some other program..

after searching a bit ...i found a way to uninstall it by typing combofix /uninstall

which gave me a screen of combofox being uninstalled..but still the icon of combox was there on my desktop.

now what i here did was out of no knowledge...i removed everything which combofix did for me..

like firstly i removed the boot which it made for me that is recovery console...then i removed all files which were made on my c: manually.

next i searched the taskmanager if really there was any task running related to combofix ...n unfortunately there wasn't any...

now i thought that restarting the system will solve my prob...so i restarted the system..

and then again tried to delete the combofox.exe file but i again wasn't able to the same error popped up that it is being used by some other programme.

next what i did was checked if actually there were any programmes being started when i booted my pc.

by going in msconfig and there weren't any just the normal ones..

now after trying everything i hope i get a solution here..or atleast a reason of why is this happening.

i am using windows xp sp3 .

Thank you...

Try this:

Please download OTCleanIt.exe and save to your Desktop.
  • Connect to the Internet and double-click on the file to launch the program.
  • Click on the green CleanUp! button.
  • If you get a warning from your firewall or other security programs regarding OTCleanIt attempting to contact the Internet, please allow the connection.
  • When it has finished, OTCleanIt will ask you to reboot so it can remove itself.
-- Note: Doing this will remove any specialized tools (including this one) downloaded and used. All other programs should be kept on your machine and used on a regular basis.
