I've got the lovely virus win32/spy.ursnif.A and contacted ESET regarding the issue. I've been advised to run Combofix and have tried several times to run it in safe mode but it detects ESET still running every time. I've disabled ESET in my startup tab using msconfig and in the program itself. I cannot figure out what to do next!

Please note the message text in blue at the top of the Am I infected? What do I do? forum.

ComboFix is an extremely powerful tool which should only be used when instructed to do so by someone who has been properly trained. ComboFix is intended by its creator to be "used under the guidance and supervision of an expert", NOT for general public or personal use. Please read Combofix's Disclaimer. Using this tool incorrectly could lead to disastrous problems with your operating system such as preventing it from ever starting again.

Please create a new topic, in the Am I infected? What do I do? forum, explaining the nature of your problem. Describe pop-ups and system tray or desktop icons that have appeared. Explain what is "going wrong" with your computer. Note any tools you have used and their respective results.

If needed, we will direct you to our HJT Preparation Guide.

Having posted the warning, I'll add this: Whoever you talked to at ESET may not be properly trained in the use of Combofix. If you experience any issues as a result of running CF, you'll most likely not receive any help from ESET.
Here at BC, we have people who are capable of guiding you through the clean-up process using other tools. Combofix is used only if absolutely neccessary-under the guidance of a someone who has been properly trained.
