Hello. I'm Paul Freed, a computer specialist working in a small IT firm in Abilene, Texas. We do bench repair, upgrades, and custom builds as well as providing managed services for over 400 computers. I've been a computer enthusiast since 1990. I was working in the Air Force on a test team at Edwards Air Force Base when our supervisor decided he needed a couple of his avionics troops to become his computer experts. You guessed it; "Freed! You're one of my computer guys now. Learn this stuff!" And so it began... I was a Small Computers Systems Manager for the Air Force for three years at Edwards, then a Small Computers Security Officer for four years at RAF Mildenhall in the UK. I started working freelance computer repair when I got back to the states as a side job back in 2000. In 2006 I started working for the IT department at Abilene Independent School District, first as a bench tech and later as a field tech. I retired from the Air Force in 2008, and went looking for full time IT work. Unfortunately, the School District went through a budget crunch at about that time, and they weren't able to offer me full time work as we had hoped for. I found, quite by accident, Your Way Computer Tech Team at about that time, and have been happily employed there since September of `08.
