The other night I had visited a suspect web page and became infected with several trojans. The symptom they caused was that clicking on a link would browse to wrong pages. So I removed the trojans. I hope I got all of them. I can't detect any more trojans. But now my browsers won't bring up a web page. Sometimes I can bring up one page, but most of the time I can't. I have the same issue with IE 8 and firefox. I've already reinstalled both browsers.
