Hello all:
I just recently had my laptop infected by the Vitro virus, via what I believe was a game setup file. I reinstalled Windows7, but things are still a bit "off". I'm not getting the crazy behavior of the Vitro virus, but there are little things here and there that are not quite right. For example, logging off, restarting, shutting down, etc takes quite a long time and often hangs up.

So, I looked online for more information and discovered that maybe I should have deleted the system partition prior to reinstalling. My question is this: does reinstalling automatically reformat the entire hard drive, all partitions? Or should I do something prior to reinstallation? How do I go about deleting the system partition? Is it as simple as going into "manage hardware" and deleting the partition in "disk managment"?

Any help is very much appreciated.

Kind Regards,
Daniel in Tulsa

Okay, so I figured out that "disk management" in "manage hardware" does not offer reformatting of the drive. I've looked on various sites about wiping the hard drive clean, but it's still pretty vague as to actual instructions, steps, etc to perform. I keep seeing "reformat AND reinstall Windows", so I assume that those are two distinct operations. Am I right? I got the Windows installation down pat, but I'm still unclear as to how to reformat. Anyone have instructions?
