Hello everyone. I recently managed to become a recipient of the infamous AntiVirus System Pro fake antivirus program. Since then, google/yahoo search results are redirected to various ad sites, sometimes porn sites, or other weird webpages that attempt to download more malware and garbage to my already infected computer.

Interestingly. the other day my browser was rendered useless (could not display web pages), even though I had a good internet connection. Somehow..my connection settings got changed (??) in Internet Options>Connections>LAN Settings to "Use a Proxy Server". I never set connections to that option. Anyway, thats fixed.

Malwarebytes has successfully removed: Rootkit.TDSS, and Trojan.FakeAlert., but the redirects continue to plague me.

Windows XP
AVG Free antivirus
Malwarebytes
Ad-Aware
HijackThis version 2.0.2

Help! LOL

My computer performance had deteriorated to a point where I decided it best just to reinstall Windows. Good luck to all. Please close my case. Thanks.
