I keep getting redirected to add sites when I click on links. Most of my anti malware and anti spyware can not update anymore. Sometimes I hear loud adds from my speakers and have found some bugs I was able to delete. I hear clicks all the time and I believe someone is trying to get my personal information so I haven't been able to log into any e-mail. please help me. thank you.

Hi, deliman :(

Welcome.

Open a command prompt (Start->Run, type CMD and click OK). At the prompt copy and paste the following commands and press Enter after each line:

Reg Add "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows" /v AppInit_DLLs / t REG_SZ /d "" /f
Exit

Download TFC by OldTimer to your desktop
  • Please double-click TFC.exe to run it. (Note: If you are running on Vista, right-click on the file and choose Run As Administrator).
  • It will close all programs when run, so make sure you have saved all your work before you begin.
  • Click the Start button to begin the process. Depending on how often you clean temp files, execution time should be anywhere from a few seconds to a minute or two. Let it run uninterrupted to completion.
  • Once it's finished it should reboot your machine. If it does not, please manually reboot the machine yourself to ensure a complete clean.
RIGHT-CLICK HERE and Save Link As (in IE it's "Save Target As") in order to download DelDomains.inf to your desktop. Once downloaded, RIGHT-CLICK DelDomains.inf and select: Install (no need to restart)

Note: This will remove all entries in the "Trusted Zone" and "Ranges".

Please download SystemLook from one of the links below and save it to your Desktop.
Download Mirror #1
Download Mirror #2
  • Double-click SystemLook.exe to run it.
  • Copy the content of the following codebox into the main textfield:

    :filefind
    keyopavi.dll

  • Click the Look button to start the scan.
  • When finished, a notepad window will open with the results of the scan. Please post this log in your next reply.
Note: The log can also be found on your Desktop entitled SystemLook.txt

Posted Image
Download GMER Rootkit Scanner from here or here.
  • Extract the contents of the zipped file to desktop.
  • Double click GMER.exe.
  • If it gives you a warning about rootkit activity and asks if you want to run a full scan...click on NO, then use the following settings for a more complete scan..

    Posted Image
Click the image to enlarge it
  • In the right panel, you will see several boxes that have been checked. Ensure the following are UNCHECKED ...
    • Sections
    • IAT/EAT
    • Drives/Partition other than Systemdrive (typically C:\)
    • Show All (don't miss this one)
  • Then click the Scan button & wait for it to finish.
  • Once done click on the [Save..] button, and in the File name area, type in "ark.txt"
  • Save it where you can easily find it, such as your desktop and post its contents in your next reply.
**Caution**
Rootkit scans often produce false positives. Do NOT take any action on any "<--- ROOKIT" entries

Post a fresh DDS report.

The commands for the command prompt were not working right. It said it could not recognize the commands when I split them up by lines. I can't figure out if I'm doing it wrong. Also DelDomains.inf doesn't give me an install option. Thanks!

=====================================================================

Please download ComboFix from Here or Here to your Desktop.

**Note: In the event you already have Combofix, this is a new version that I need you to download. It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop**
  • Please, never rename Combofix unless instructed.
  • Close any open browsers.
  • Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

    -----------------------------------------------------------

    • Very Important! Temporarily disable your anti-virus, script blocking and any anti-malware real-time protection before performing a scan. They can interfere with ComboFix or remove some of its embedded files which may cause "unpredictable results".
    • Click on this link to see a list of programs that should be disabled. The list is not all inclusive. If yours is not listed and you don't know how to disable it, please ask.

      -----------------------------------------------------------

    • Close any open browsers.
    • WARNING: Combofix will disconnect your machine from the Internet as soon as it starts
    • Please do not attempt to re-connect your machine back to the Internet until Combofix has completely finished.
    • If there is no internet connection after running Combofix, then restart your computer to restore back your connection.

    -----------------------------------------------------------

  • Double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
  • If you receive a message that Combofix has detected the presence of rootkit activity and needs to reboot, kindly write down on paper the list of files present in the message before continuing, and post it in your next reply.
  • Install the Recovery Console upon request.
  • When finished, it will produce a report for you.
  • Please post the "C:\ComboFix.txt" along with a new HijackThis log for further review.
**Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall**

Note: ComboFix may reset a number of Internet Explorer's settings, including making it the default browser.
Note: Combofix prevents autorun of ALL CDs, floppies and USB devices to assist with malware removal & increase security.

Please do not install any new programs or update anything unless told to do so while we are fixing your problem.

No request for help throughout private messaging will be attended.

If I have helped you, consider making a donation to help me continue the fight against Malware!

Hi, deliman :(
  • Copy the entire contents of the Quote Box below to Notepad.
  • Name the file as fix.bat
  • Change the Save as Type to All Files
  • and Save it on the desktop
  • Once saved, double click on the fix.bat file. The MSDOS window will display for a second. That is normal.

@Echo Off
Copy /y C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386\atapi.sys C:\
Copy /y C:\hp\drivers\Intel_5_1_0_1022_PV\iastor.sys C:\
Copy /y c:\windows\ServicePackFiles\i386\eventlog.dll C:\WINDOWS\System32\Dllcache
Copy /y c:\windows\ServicePackFiles\i386\eventlog.dll C:\WINDOWS\System32
Exit

1. Please download The Avenger by Swandog46 to your Desktop.
  • Right click on the Avenger.zip folder and select "Extract All..."
  • Follow the prompts and extract the avenger folder to your desktop
2. Copy all the text contained in the code box below to your Clipboard by highlighting it and pressing (Ctrl+C):

Begin copying here:
Files to move:
C:\atapi.sys | c:\windows\system32\DRIVERS\atapi.sys
C:\iastor.sys | c:\windows\system32\DRIVERS\iaStor.sys

Note: the above code was created specifically for this user. If you are not this user, do NOT follow these directions as they could damage the workings of your system.

3. Now, open the avenger folder and start The Avenger program by clicking on its icon.
  • Right click on the window under Input script here:, and select Paste.
  • You can also click on this window and press (Ctrl+V) to paste the contents of the clipboard.
  • Click on Execute
  • Answer "Yes" twice when prompted.
4. The Avenger will automatically do the following:
  • It will Restart your computer. ( In cases where the code to execute contains "Drivers to Delete", The Avenger will actually restart your system twice.)
  • On reboot, it will briefly open a black command window on your desktop, this is normal.
  • After the restart, it creates a log file that should open with the results of Avengerís actions. This log file will be located at C:\avenger.txt
  • The Avenger will also have backed up all the files, etc., that you asked it to delete, and will have zipped them and moved the zip archives to C:\avenger\backup.zip.

That didn't work.

Download the enclosed file. Save and extract its contents to the desktop. Once extracted, open the folder and click on the fix.bat file. The MSDOS window will display for a second. That is normal.

Copy all the text contained in the code box below to your Clipboard by highlighting it and pressing (Ctrl+C):

Begin copying here:
Files to move:
C:\atapi.sys | c:\windows\system32\DRIVERS\atapi.sys
C:\iastor.sys | c:\windows\system32\DRIVERS\iaStor.sys

Note: the above code was created specifically for this user. If you are not this user, do NOT follow these directions as they could damage the workings of your system.

Please copy/paste the content of c:\avenger.txt into your reply along with a fresh DDS log .

After I downloaded it and clicked it all it would do is open a black window for less than a second and then nothing would open.

After I downloaded it and clicked it all it would do is open a black window for less than a second and then nothing would open.

That is what it is expected. Continue with the Avenger process.

Hey it's doing awesome. Thank you so much! I was on the verge of going insane. I want your opinion on something. I have been using Norton 360. It has helped out tremendously in the past. During this attack it didn't do anything and it is really expensive. I have one week to decide to buy another year of it. what do you think? Is it worth it?

also should I change all my passwords i entered while i had the virus?
