Properly uninstall programs in Vista

I would like to know how to properly uninstall programs in Windows Vista. Would like to not leave any traces of the programs in the registry. Please advice.

Revo Uninstaller does a thorough job. http://www.revouninstaller.com/
Use the Advanced mode.
