My girl friends computer has become infected with some sort of virus (she had no antivirus for about a year), it completly locks up after starting up. So she went and bought a new computer (with an antivirus), but would like the photos and class papers saved on her old computer. My question is can I physically remove the hard drive from her old computer, install into her new computer and use the new computers antivirus to check and remove viruses on the old hard drive. If so do i run a risk of infecting the new computer
