So I was online trying to find a streaming video of the HBO series Deadwood, didn't download anything actively, but did "play" a few video streams that in the end turned out to be bogus. Somewhere along the way towards the end of the search, started experiencing fake windows security alerts, would not run mal-ware or system restore, and was hijacking browser pages. Right now, I have the laptop in Safe Mode (not networked) running Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware scan, only about 30 minutes in. The virus/whatever would not let me run Norton, or anything else to attempt to clean it and would claim that whatever executable I was trying to run was an infected file.

Please help.
Thank you in advance.
