Hello everyone.

Couple days ago I noticed my comp running slower than normal.

I deleted unimportant files and programs I no longer use. I also ran scandisk and defrag.

Then yesterday a blue screen pops up saying

Driver_IRQL_NOT _LESS_OR_EQUAL

Tech info avgtdix.sys adress F35CA082 base at F3C5000 datestamp 4aeeddh6

I'm not sure what to do next so I figured I'd better talk to the experts here who understand this stuff.

I'm attaching a hijackthis logfile. (hopefully properly)

Thank you anyone who can help.

avgtdix.sys = file for AVG product.

It's a driver file of some type for AVG and it's probably damaged (which is why it's now causing problems).

I would uninstall AVG...initate chkdsk /r command...reboot...let chkdsk /r execute...install AV when system boots into XP.

I did it. Thank you very much. The avg pages and this one loaded nice and quick which is awesome.
One weird thing though.

A window popped up saying to free up disk space outlook express can compact messages. What's odd is I have never in my life used Outlook express for anything so why should it need to compact any messages with it?

You may be running low on space on your system partition...OE does that periodically and I always thought that the key was some sort of size check of the default message store (C: partition), but it could just be a certain time period. Nothing to worry about.

Glad you were able to resolve your AVG situation, happy computing .
