I have a HP Photosmart c309a. Whenever I scan photos or anything else, the HP menu comes up on my screen and the printer's document feeder starts running. After it trys for a while and realizes there is no document in the feeder, I get an error message on the printer's LCD screen telling me to reload my document. At this time I can go to the HP menu that is on my screen and click on "Scan Original From Glass". I have to go through this process with every single scan: wait for it to try to scan via the document feeder then tell it to scan from the glass.

Isn't there a way to set the printer to default to the glass for scans?

Thanks!

Honestly I went through the entire owners manual and it doesn't say if you can or can't. On Hp's website you can chat with an online tech and they can walk you through how to change the setting if you can.
