I am currently using the McAfee program that is provided free with Comcast internet service.Everyone is telling me to get rid of McAfee and try something different.I was thinking of using avast free home edition, but was wondering if it has an effective firewall.

What combination of virus protection and firewall programs work best?
I am using a HP windows xp home 32 bit with firefox. any ideas?

Avast is a good anti-virus.

Personally, I use Avira Antivir Free Edition as my anti-virus and Comodo as my firewall.
