why won't my laptop work?

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around

Look at that damn GPS deal! $97 for a XL340! I'm going to get one of those for my frequently lost friend, if it's still cheap enough by the time I can afford it.

I know. I'm smacking my head. I promised my wife a new build next year [and me too, of course]
I've spent enough for Christmas, already

Found a way around the wife wanting a new build. I build myself a new quad-core. Then she inherits my old dual-core to replace her current single. Then her current single 2.2 replaces my 1.7 workbench machine.

This way everyone gets an upgrade but only spend for one new build.

Ooh, I so want to get a second screen. I don't know what I'd do with it, but I want one.

Maybe if I see a cheap 9800 GT I'll snag it, mine seems like its wearing out. 72 degrees C idle when it used to stick around 50 degrees C.

Check and make sure the fan is free of dust and working.

Maybe invest in an after market cooler for it.

I've cleaned out the fan and even replaced the heat paste on the GPU with Artic Silver. I'll look at an after market cooler instead, but I feel like the one I have now should work. It worked great for the first four or five months, and started dying when I was using it heavily with Folding@Home.
