Hey guys! Im in need of some help fast! I have come down with a Vundo Virus I think! I have used AVG 9.0/McAfee/Ad-Aware/VundoFix/VirtumundoBrGone/rkill/CCleaner/Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

AVG 9.0 found Multiple Virus Identified Worm/Generic AOCL along with some tracking cookies. The anti Rootkit scan didn't find anything.
Avg 9.0 also Found a Vundo but it seems not to be in the log. Ill see if I can find it.

McAfee Found multiple Gereric.dx!ig (Trojan), Exploit-ByteVerify (trojan) Exploit-ByteVerify (Trojan) That were Quarantined NOT repaired (removed)
McAffe also found PWS-MThief.gen.a (Trojan) PWS-IMThief.gen.a (Trojan) on a previous date and I removed the containing file/files associated with this program I downloaded. And Mcafee Removed them.

As-Aware found nothing...

VundoFix Found nothing

I Did a restore for some reason to 2 weeks back and I wasn't thinking and It didn't change anything. Seemed to piss off w/e this is and now its messing with the computer more then ever! I then ran your logging programs and logged everything. I then ran the RootRepeal and when it was scanning it made my computer skip like my mouse moved and would skip every 3 or 4 sec and computer was very slow. I then got a blue screen error. I can not restart into SAFE mode! It tries to load in safe mode then just restarts and brings me back to a boot menu.

My Firefox browser is effected by this Trojan I have to click the desktop every time I want to click something on the firefox window. When I search on google and click a link it brings me to another page other then the google link. Like Yellow pages and some others. It wont let me run programs such as a Game Editor for Operation flashpoint 2 also wont let me run other programs they just run on the process menu at 49% ecu and I can open as many as I want and they are all at like 50% ecu.

I think I may have gotten this from some stuff I downloaded but Everything was deleted by file.

I cant get the RootRepeal to work Crashes my comp. Ill work on getting the file

Thanks for the time to read this and help! I hope we can get this worked out I dont want to lose another hard drive to a Vundo virus. I am almost ready to reformat and lose everything to get rid of this crap! Thanks!

Hello and welcome to Bleeping Computer

We apologize for the delay in responding to your request for help. Here at Bleeping Computer we get overwhelmed at times, and we are trying our best to keep up. Please note that your topic was not intentionally overlooked. Our mission is to help everyone in need, but sometimes it takes just a little longer to get to every request for help. No one is ignored here.

If you have since resolved the original problem you were having, we would appreciate you letting us know. If not please perform the following steps below so we can have a look at the current condition of your machine.

If you have not done so, include a clear description of the problems you're having, along with any steps you may have performed so far.

Upon completing the steps below another staff member will review and take the steps necessary with you to get your machine back in working order clean and free of malware.

If you have already posted a DDS log, please do so again, as your situation may have changed.
Use the 'Add Reply' and add the new log to this thread.

Thanks and again sorry for the delay.

We need to see some information about what is happening in your machine. Please perform the following scan:
  • Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explaination about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results.
  • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.

Information on A/V control HERE
regards,
