I have something nasty! Anytime I click on a search result on yahoo or google it redirects to a variety of websites. Later while trying to fix the problem I found that anytime I download anything, it goes to the download folder and then literally disappears immediately. I tried scanning my computer with AVG and i click on the scan button and nothing will happen. I have malwarebytes and it ran for 2 seconds in safe mode and disappeared. when I restarted the computer the EXE file was there but 0 bytes. I downloaded hijackthis from another computer and transfered it to my computer on a USB since I cannot download programs.

I tried running the DDS but after a few seconds it also disappeared or closed.

I'm out of ideas

Here's my hijackthis log

Hello,

Please do this....

Download and run Win32kDiag:Next......

Download and run a batch file (peek.bat):
  • Download peek.bat from the download link below and save it to your Desktop.
  • Double-click peek.bat to run it.A black Command Prompt window will appear shortly: the program is running. If you are using Vista please right click and run as Admin!
  • Once it is finished, copy and paste the entire contents of the Log.txt file it creates as a reply to this post.
==========

With your next post please provide:

* Win32kDiag.txt

(Copy and paste the logs please)

Kind regards,

I do not accept personal donations for assistance provided. I would ask that you instead consider donating the greatest gift - Organ Donation. Your organs are of no use to you when your gone. You will save a life that would otherwise be lost!

I'm sorry. I didn't see the first reply till today. I have solved the problem now...I cleared it and installed Windows 7 instead of Vista. The only problem with downloading those files...every time I downloaded a file it deleted it when it was complete. I finally got malwarebytes to run and the virus cut off the scan after 3 seconds and deleted the program. I also ran it in SAFE mode and it bogged the computer down with very few processes running. Sorry I wasted your time.

Happy Holidays
