I have successfull removed Norton and installed AVG (not the free one) but when I restart there is an error that self corrects and restores the computer to a previous date and undoes all the changes I made. This has happened twice already. Is Windows Security Center causing the problem? From what I've read this is not a virus. Its a legit security program. Let me know if Im wrong and if its OK for me to delete the whole program. Thank you so much!

hi,,, windows security centre is not a security program but part of the os,,,, if all was working fine on your pc,,, when you open it up in control panel you will see what security is running on the pc,,,, in the malware tab it would say your AV is AVG and so on

can you give more info on whats is happening,,,
good luck.

hi,,, just as an after thought,,, did you use the Norton removal tool after uninstall,, as AVG could be having issues with bits left over from NIS,,,, which Norton product & version was it btw ??
