On Sunday my home PC got infected with the Antivirus System Pro virus. When I start up explorer, I get a warning prompt that says: "Application cannot be executed. The file wuauclt.exe is infected. Do you want to activate your antivirus software now?". I also get a Antivirus System Pro Alert indicating that my computer has been infiltrated and provides details on the IP origin of the virus and type of virus. There is a false Antivirus program scanning my computer and reporting all the supposed infections. If my computer is left to idle I get forwarded to porno.com and the viagra website. I also cannot open any programs, if I do I get the following warning prompt: "Application cannot be executed. The file wuauclt.exe is infected. Do you want to activate your antivirus software now?".

In an effort to solve the problem myself, I downloaded and used the rkill.com and Malwarebytes anti-malware programs, but to no avail. So I followed the steps outlined here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/34773/preparation-guide-for-use-before-using-malware-removal-tools-and-requesting-help/. Despite following the instructions step-by-step I seem to be missing some info. According to the guide the DDS program was supposed to produce two notepad files: DDS.txt and attach.txt. I only get the DDS.txt file. The contents of that file are shown below:

Hi,

DDS log appears to be only a partial.

Download DDS and save it to your desktop from here or here or here.
Disable any script blocker, and then double click dds.scr to run the tool.
  • When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
    • DDS.txt
    • Attach.txt
  • Save both reports to your desktop. Post them back to your topic.

Download GMER here by clicking download exe -button and then saving it your desktop:
  • Double-click .exe that you downloaded
  • Click rootkit-tab and then scan.
  • Don't check
    Show All
    box while scanning in progress!
  • When scanning is ready, click Copy.
  • This copies log to clipboard
  • Post log in your reply.
