Well, for some reason my last post didn't work, but I will try again. My laptop's touchpad has been having a strange issue ever since I last installed Windows. When I use it just to move the mouse around the scree, it works fine, but if I try to use the side or the bottom of the touchpad to scroll up/down or side to side in a window, it stops working. It will not work for about 10 minutes, and then it will start working again. Fortunately I have a wireless mouse, so it's not a huge deal, but I would still like to get to the bottom of it. I am using the same driver that I have always used, and I tried searching online for newer versions, but I couldn't find any.

My computer is a Gateway P-173X FX edition.
I have a Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad
The driver version is: 10.2.4.0

Any suggestions?

Since this is a newer install of Windows, after performing it did you go HERE? Fill in the requested info and download all appropriate drivers.

Yes, I did. I have the up-to-date driver.
