While on firefox I've noticed that I get IE popups constantly (this also happens in Internet Explorer). One constant popup is hxxp://media2.tmlatn.com I usually get that as a blank page and then two to three more popups right after that. The computer is my parents and it came with a trial version of Norton when they bought it back in 2005 or 2006. The problem is they haven't had any real protection since then so I installed avg free and ran a scan got rid of anything that it found. I ran spybot in both regular and safe mode and got rid of what showed up there (it was mostly virtumonde). Ran HiJack this but some of the files that showed up in my spybot scan still show up in hijack this. I can't run ad-aware because everytime I start it, it shuts down after like 5 seconds. Could someone please help me with getting this cleaned up.

Try installing Malwarebytes and SUPERAntiSpyware (if possible) and run the scans, remove what they find and then I would run a full virus scan as well.

If you have problems installing them while in the regular Windows mode then try it in safe mode. You cna access safe mode WITH NETWORKING by gently tapping F8 as the computer reboots.
