I have been "recovering from a serious error" the past few times I re-booted (see post here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/Maj...or-t27269.html), and I was wondering if there could be anything in my HJT scan. I've aslo had BIOS issues, but I don't think this applies to those. Thanks!

I do see some things in here that I don't like, but I'll wait for advice before I do anything.

Hello Lanscader and welcome to the BC HijackThis forum. I do not see any problems relating to viruses or malware at this time. The log is clean.

There are a couple of house-keeping items that can be fixed so let's take care of those.

Start HijackThis and click the Scan button to perform a scan. Look for the following items and click in the checkbox in front of each item to select it:O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {E0E899AB-F487-11D5-8D29-0050BA6940E3} - (no file)
O16 - DPF: {AB29A544-D6B4-4E36-A1F8-D3E34FC7B00A} - http://install.wildtangent.com/bgn/partner...stx/install.cab

Now close ALL open windows except HijackThis and click the Fix Checked button to finish the repair.

Ok, reboot the machine to finish the fix.

The issues that are stated above can be indicative of an impending hardware failure. It could be an issue with the bios itself, the hard drive, memory or a problem on the motherboard. I would make sure that any important files are backed up just in case there is a failure.

As far as the HijackThis log, it does not appear to be an issue related to any installed malware.
