I'm running Vista Home Premium 64-bit SP1 with ZoneAlarm Extreme Security Suite installed. ZoneAlarm scan finds no problems.

My machine locks screen with password prompt if I am away long enough (I usually lock screen manually before going AFK -- old security habit from work).

Earlier this week, when I entered my password at the lockscreen prompt, I was refused entry. I checked the caps lock, carefully re-entered the password, but was again refused entry. After trying a few more times, I rebooted and was able to log in.

The same thing happened again today -- password refused, reboot fixed.

Am I infected?

I would try resetting the password and then see what happens.
