Hi, I've been having a lot of trouble very recently with IE being constantly hijacked to randomly pop up with various porn ads from picsplace.com. In addition to this, every few seconds the window I am currently at loses focus so I have to click to get back into it.

I've searched and searched and haven't seen many resources available to help fight this specific problem. I have been using AdAware and Spybot S&D regularly, and I do not use IE for any purpose, so whatever this is slipped in undetected (or because of somebody else using MY computer...)

Anyway, I stumbled across the HJT log post of another user, followed those directions, and found that they didn't work...so I thought I would present my own logfile for evaluation.

I am in your hands...anything you can do for me would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Nedalis,

Sorry for the delay.

I see some bad processes running but nothing is showing in the fixable portion of the log. It also appears that your antivirus solution, which I'm not familiar with, may have been compromised. Have you let your subscription lapse? If you are still able to update it, please uninstall, then reinstall, update and then run a full system scan in Safe Mode.

If you want to switch to a different antivirus (AV), you can choose from this list of free ones:

Antivir
Avast Free
AVG Free
Bitdefender Free

If you choose this route you'll need to uninstall ViRobot and then download the new AV. It should come with the latest updatess, so once the download is complete, boot into safe mode, install and run it.

Reboot then run at least two of these free online scans:

eTrust Antivirus Web Scanner
TrendMicro's HouseCall
Panda ActiveScan
BitDefender

Scan again with HijackThis and then please post another log. Save and post any log you might get from the onine scans.

Also let me know if you are running the latest versions of Spybot S&D and AdAware. The first is at version 1.4 and the older version is no longer updated. AdAware SE should be at 1.06.

Is in the hands of fools
