For the past several days I have attempted to use regular tools such as Malwarebytes and a few others to remove what I believe is a Virtumonde infection. However, they have been ineffective. System restore is unable to be disabled for removal of the virus. If disabled, it is reenabled with max storage space at the next bootup. The computer runs slowly and firefox redirects very often. My computer settings have also been reset, in the same manner as if you were using a different user account though I still login with the same password. As per the instructions of the site, I got a log from the dds program, but the root repeal program would not run.
