Hi,

This is my first time posting here. Looking for some help in removing malware from my computer. After searching for "trojan horse agent_r.ot" on google, I have found other people who seem to be having the same or similar problems to what I am experiencing - bleepingcomputer.com seems to be the best place to get help, so here I am.

AVG 9 is unable to remove this malware from my system and continues to find between 72 and 84 trojan horse agent_r.ot infections each time I run a full scan. I have also tried running Windows Defender, Windows Security Essentials, Spybot Search and Destroy, Ad-Aware, and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (I make sure to not have any of these running simultaneously so that they do not conflict). AVG seems to be the only program recognizing the malware. Spybot reports that my Windows Security Center has been disabled. My Windows Security Center says that my firewall (Zonealarm) has been turned off even though Zonealarm claims to be on. My browser (Firefox) also continues to keep opening up various dodgy websites on its own when I am online.

Any help would be greatly apprecaited. THANK YOU!

Hi,

Sorry for delayed response. Forums have been really busy. If you still need help with this do following, please.

Download DDS and save it to your desktop from here or here or here.
Disable any script blocker, and then double click dds.scr to run the tool.
  • When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
    • DDS.txt
    • Attach.txt
  • Save both reports to your desktop. Post them back to your topic.
Download GMER here by clicking download exe -button and then saving it your desktop:
  • Double-click .exe that you downloaded
  • Click rootkit-tab and then scan.
  • Don't check
    Show All
    box while scanning in progress!
  • When scanning is ready, click Copy.
  • This copies log to clipboard
  • Post log in your reply.
