The sound drivers are usually provided by the makers of your computer (or if you built the system, the manufacturers of your motherboard/mainboard). What type of computer do you have?

Use a program called AIDA32

You can download that program and get your system info out of it...

OH and while it will depend on your Motherboard type to determine which of the AC '97 drivers to get....I am willing to bet it will be the

VIA AC97 codecs incorporated into VT8233, VT8233A, VT8233C, VT8235 and VT8237/R South Bridges

I had a VIA at one time...so learned a lot about those types of motherboards...fast systems... :-)

VIA is the name of the manufacturer of your motherboard....
did you go to the site I posted? click on Windows XP, then Audio Drivers...and then

VIA AC97 codecs incorporated into VT8233, VT8233A, VT8233C, VT8235 and VT8237/R South Bridges

Install that, and I think that should do it.....

Whoops, I'm wrong...that's the right one....SORRY

Extract anywhere. (For example, I have mine in a Drivers Folder, in C:/DRIVERS/)
