I'm not sure when I started getting this pop-up. Maybe a week ago, possibly less. Lately, whenever I boot into my XP account, it takes a long time for my wireless to connect. I'm using a USB wireless adapter and normally it takes less than a minute for the 3rd-party wireless manager to start and connect. But lately it will be minutes before it starts. And I lately get a balloon from the systray saying that I don't have antivirus protection (which is true). It took me a day or two for me to realize the two behaviors seemed to roughly coincide, in terms of when they started. And also that the balloon was probably fake. I went to my Control Panel to the Security icon and it was set to *not* notify me that I don't have antivirus software, which is the way I set it. This leads me to believe that the systray balloon is fake.

I recently installed a program called ClickZap, on a whim. I am wondering if maybe this program was infected or malicious.

After I realized I might have malware, I installed and updated MalwareBytes Malaware and CCleaner. I booted XP into safe mode and ran both programs. All that MalwareBytes found was a supposed Start Menu hijack, something to do with Search. I removed that and restarted the computer normally (after running CCleaner too), but the popup is still there.

As I was writing this, I also installed and ran Spyhunter, but all it found was a cookie. I've uninstalled Spyhunter.

Thank you in advance for any help. It's much appreciated.
