Hello All-

Sometime between uninstalling Norton and installing AVG I managed to get a copy of Personal Guard 2009 infecting my computer. I ran a full scan by AVG but that didn't get rid of it.

I downloaded and ran a full scan with Antimalware Bytes. It found several infected files. I clicked on the "remove infected files" button. It told me I needed to reboot my computer, so I did. I got to my desktop and then got the "blue screen". I shut down again and restarted. This time it didn't get that far before the blue screen appeared. I restarted again, attempting "safe mode", but immediately got the blue screen.

I am running XP.

So you cannot get on at all?
Only a blue screen

All I can suggest is a Vipre rescue disk. It should help enough to at least get the computer back on

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around
