Disc Drive problem

Okay, my computers disc drive is acting reallly weird. Heres what happens:
I cant open or close it
I only the bottom one shows up on My Computer (i have two)
It randomly opens and closes, and when it does, I have to literally push it back in, it wont go in by itself if I push the button
after it comes out, the compuer start to freeze
PLEASE HELP!!!

After making sure that your computer is clean and malware isn't causing this.

Go to your Device Manager and remove the disk drive and restart the computer and let windows reinstall it from the driver cache.

Device Manager:
Right Click My Computer>Properties>Hardware Tab>Device Manager>Then click the + by CD-Rom and you will see the disk drives. Right Click the one causing the laughter and remove it>Restart

:thumbsup:, when i right cliked the ROM thing, it said that only one thing was connected, but i have to drives. one on top and one on the bottom...heres a pic of it Dell Dimension 8200 if u look closley u can see two of them, the one on the top is the one thats messed up. so if theres two of those shudnt there b two things that show up when i right click the ROM thing? and i dont think its malware or anything like that...... :flowers: o, and that previous forum link that u posted was 404'd

Are you telling me that when you go to the Device Manager and click the + sign by DVD/CD Rom there is only 1 drive shows.

If so Right Click the drive and remove it the restart.
