I am at my wits end on this. I have dealt with many viruses and am usually the guy that my friends turn to when they have computer trouble but here are my symptoms

The other night my mcafee virusscan enterprise 8.7.0i popped up saying it had detected a virus. It would then pop up saying it detected a new virus under some random name every time i tried to open any program. Finally i got the virus scan to completly scan the computer and it found dozens of viruses with something about false alerts on each of them. I have updated and ran both superantivirus and spybot multiple times and they find new things every time. I cant run malwarebytes though. i tried to re download it and every time i try to go to a site to download it such as download.cnet.com i get re-directed to searchclick8.com. Also my internet is running much slower than normal. and every now and then i get random pop up windows that dont have to do with anything such as having a internet explorer window pop up when i try to open firefox

Anyway i downloaded malwarebytes onto a usb flash drive from another computer and tried to go into safemode to install it and i cant get into safe mode i get an error saying press escape to load sptd.sys and one other .dll file every now and then. I read it had something to do with daemon tools. i loaded windows normally and uninstalled daemon and now i just get the sptd.sys error when trying to go into safe mode.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

  • Double-click on the Rkill desktop icon to run the tool.
  • If using Vista, right-click on it and Run As Administrator.
  • A black DOS box will briefly flash and then disappear. This is normal and indicates the tool ran successfully.
  • If not, delete the file, then download and use the one provided in Link 2.
  • If it does not work, repeat the process and attempt to use one of the remaining links until the tool runs.

Do not reboot the computer or you will have to run it again
