After installing a repair installation of WIN XP HE because my laptop kept rebooting itself, Windows Installer now pops up when I click on any new site, document, e-mail, etc. and remains visible for 60 - 90 seconds. I can browse and use the laptop as before, but have to wait for Windows Installer to disappear before I can do anything.

How do I get rid of this? Do I have maybe have a virus?

I have used Norton AV Corporate Ed., UniBlue SpyEraser, and Registry Booster.

Any help would be appreciated. THANKS!

I further suggest that you stop using Registry Booster on your system.
