I'm looking to purchase software legally but have limited funds. I want it to be a 100% legal purchase, but some the software I need is very expensive. If I buy a used software program on Ebay or Amazon.com, do I then have legal ownership of that cd, even though it didn't come directly from a retailer? This may be a stupid question, but it's been bugging me.

as long as its not REQUIRED to register it with the company who made it, its legit. but thats to my knowledge. i.e.: Fruity Loops, u have to tell Image-Line software that you own a legit copy with all that CDkey mumbo-jumbo.
