Internet connection was lost duringSP2 download and aborted. I am aware that windows prompts to fix this after next boot. I do not recall but assume that I opted out of the file removal process and now my os is not working properly. So far the only problem i have noticed is explorer will not work. I attempted to download IE8 and got err SHRegGetValueW not located in dynamic library SHLWAPI.dll. I have been looking for solution because while i can use mozilla, i am expecting there are less obvious yet very serious problems in my registry because of this. If anyone can help me resolve this i would greatly appreciate it. i can submit registry info if needed

Just download/install SP3, which offers the greater level of protection for the system.

SP2 is contained in the SP3 install.

Thank You. I will figure it out. I originally tried to download SP2 again because I didn't know it was included within SP3. However the Microsoft update page kept prompting me to get a newer version of IE8 and the updates through my control panel keeps trying to auto launch IE. I can acces the site fine using mozilla on my vista based computer but on the xp computer it seems like i am missing some kind of update. Anyhow thanks for the info. It's good to know it is an easy fix that I was over looking.
