xp files that wont print

I did a google search for xp files that wont print and found this site . all of the problems listed were what was happening to me but there was no solution to the problem . I have a HP D1430 and when I send a file to print the print que showes it for about 2 seconds and then it dissapears

Check and make sure it's set as the default printer
Maybe uninstall and reinstall the printer and software
