Lately I've been having a number of problems with my wireless adapter, which have become more serious and disruptive.
My laptop is an almost brand-new Lenovo Y550 laptop with Windows Vista (64-bit OS) and Service Pack 1. Everything worked perfectly when I first got it, but then, in my dorm room, it would only be able to connect in my bed, near the window (which is a killer on my backside). This went on for a while, until a day ago, when I started my computer but was unable to connect to the internet. I checked under Device Manager, and my wireless adapter wouldn't even appear under the list of network devices for a little while. When it eventually did after some mindless clicking and refreshing the list, the network adapter would appear, but with a Code 12 error (not enough free resources available or something similar). I would have to sit and disable and re-enable the adapter - restarting every time - for at least an hour before the error would go away, and I could get on the internet.
I'm hoping it's not an actual hardware error, since that would require me having to go back to the manufacturer, but I heard through the grapevine that not having Service Pack 2 could be the cause. I would really appreciate it if someone could help me get my Internet browsing ability back.
