Hello and :( to Bleeping Computer

We apologize for the delay in responding to your request for help. Here at Bleeping Computer we get overwhelmed at times, and we are trying our best to keep up. Please note that your topic was not intentionally overlooked. Our mission is to help everyone in need, but sometimes it takes just a little longer to get to every request for help. No one is ignored here
.

*If you have since resolved the original problem you were having, we would appreciate you letting us know.

*If not please perform the following steps below so we can have a look at the current condition of your machine.

*If you have not done so, include a clear description of the problems you're having, along with any steps you may have performed so far.

Upon completing the steps below another staff member will review and take the steps necessary with you to get your machine back in working order clean and free of malware.

**If you have already posted a DDS log, please do so again, as your situation may have changed.
Use the 'Add Reply' and add the new log to this thread.

Thanks and again sorry for the delay

Hello gasganopod, and :( to Bleeping Computer Malware Removal Forum.

My Nick is Net_Surfer, I'll be glad to help you with your computer problems. I will be working on your Malware issues, this may or may not solve other issues you may have with your machine
.

Sorry about the delay, but the amount of people posting with infected computers is through the roof and sometimes we can't get to logs as fast as we would like to. I would also like to inform you that most of us here at Bleeping Computer offer our expert assistance out of the goodness of our hearts. Please be courteous and appreciative for the assistance provided!

Please note that whatever repairs we make, are for fixing "your computer problems only" and by no means should be used on another computer.

You may want to keep the link to this topic in your favorites. Alternatively, you can click the Posted Image button at the top bar of this topic and Track this Topic, where you can choose email notifications. In order to be notified via email when your topic has a reply you need to enable topic notifications. To enable topic notifications you should do the following:

1. Click on the My Controls link at the top of the page to enter your control panel.

2. Scroll down to the Options category in the left hand side menu bar and click on the Email Settings link.

3. Put a checkmark in the checkbox labeled Enable 'Email Notification' by default?.

4. Set the If ticked, choose default type: menu option to Immediate Email Notification to have an email sent immediately when someone replied

The topics you are tracking are shown Here.

Because the e-mail notification system is not completely reliable, please check your topic once a day for responses.

----------------------------*-------------------------------

Please be patient and I'd be grateful if you would note the following:

The cleaning process is not instant. DDS, ComboFix, RSIT logs can take some time to research, so please be patient with me. I know that you need your computer working as quickly as possible, and I will work hard to help see that happen.

1. Please reply using the Posted Image button in the lower right hand corner of your screen. Do not start a new topic.
2. The logs that you post should be pasted directly into the reply. Only attach them if requested or if they do not fit into the post.
3. All of my posts need to be checked by my coach before they are posted here your benefit will be "four eyes and two brains" looking into your problem, but my responses may be somewhat delayed so please be patient while I attempt to remove your malware.
4. Unfortunately, if I do not hear back from you within 5 days, I will be forced to close your topic. If you still need help after I have closed your topic, send me or a moderator a personal message with the address of the thread or feel free to create a new one.

OK.. gasganopod, you posted the DDS.text report log, but I also need that you post the other log of the DDS Scan:

Attach.txt
Please copy and paste the report log back here for my review.

In the meantime Please refrain from making any changes to your system (updating Windows, installing applications, removing files, etc.) from now on as it might prolong handling your log and make the job for both of us more difficult..

Thanks and again sorry for the delay.

Kind regards
Net_Surfer

Hello gasganopod again , :)

Sorry for the delay.

The forum is exceptionally busy. I have reviewed your logs and proposed a fix. :(

I am patiently waiting for my coach to approve the clean-up. :(

If possible I would encourage you to minimize use of that computer until we can get it cleaned up. I appreciate your patience.

Regards,
Net_Surfer

NOTICE:
These steps are for member: gasganopod. ONLY. If you are a lurker, do NOT try this on your system! If you are not the topic starter and have a similar problem, do NOT post here; DO NOT follow these directions as they could damage the workings of your system. Please start your own topic.

Hello again gasganopod, :)

Sorry for the delay.

Please observe these rules while we work
:
  • Please Read All Instructions Carefully and perform the steps fully and in the order they are written.
  • If you don't know or understand something, please don't hesitate to say or ask!! It's better to be sure and safe than sorry.
  • Do not attempt to clean your computer with any tools other than the ones I ask you to use during the cleanup process.
  • In order to see what's going on with your computer I will ask for you to post various logs from the tools that we will use to resolve your issue. Please also share with me any information about how your computer is reacting and behaving each step of the way as we work through this process.
  • Please avoid installing/uninstalling or updating any programs and attempting any unsupervised fixes or scans. This can make helping you impossible.
  • Please continue to review my answers until I tell you that your machine is clean and free of malware. (Remember absence of symptoms does not mean that everything is clear).
Just because you can't see a problem doesn't mean it isn't there.

If you can do these things, everything should go smoothly. :(

---------------------------*------------------------

I need you to read and take some action on The following warnings:
.

:) P2P Warning

The log shows that you have been using so called peer-to-peer or file-sharing programmes (in your case: µTorrent). These programmes allow to share files between users as the name(s) suggest. In today's world the cyber crime has come a long way and any means is used to infect personal computers to make use of their stored data or machine power for further propagation of their malware files. A popular means is the use of file-sharing tools as a tremendous amount of prospective victims can be reached through it.

It is therefore possible to be infected by downloading manipulated files via peer-to-peer tools and thus suggested to be used with intense care. Some further readings on this subject, along the included links, are as follows: "File-Sharing, otherwise known as Peer To Peer" and "Risks of File-Sharing Technology."

It is also important to note that sharing entertainment files and proprietary software infringes the copyright laws in many countries over the world and you are putting yourself at risk of being indicted through organisations watching over the rights of the authors of such files (i.e. the RIAA for music files, or the MPAA for movie files in the USA) or the authors of the files themselves.

P2P programs form a direct conduit onto your computer, their security measures are easily circumvented, and Malware writers are increasingly exploiting them to spread their wares onto your computer. Further to that, if your P2P programme is not configured correctly you may be sharing more files than you realise. There have been cases where people's Passwords, Address Books and other personal, private, and financial details have been exposed to the file sharing network by a badly configured programme.

This article from InfoWorld illustrates perfectly the dangers of a poorly configured P2P program.
http://www.infoworld.com/article/07/09/06/...ID-theft_1.html

Many of the programs come bundled with other unwanted programs, but even the ones free of any bundled software are not safe to use.

When you use them you are downloading software from an unknown source directly onto your computer, bypassing your Firewall and Anti-Virus software. Hardly surprising then that many of these Downloads are being targeted to carry infections.

Note: It is pretty much certain that if you continue to use P2P programs, then you will get infected again.

I would recommend that you uninstall µTorrent, however that choice is up to you. If you choose to remove these programs, you can do so via Control Panel >> Add or Remove Programs.

If you wish to keep it, please do not use it until your computer is cleaned.
Naturally there are also legal ways to use these services, such as downloading Linux distributions or office suites such as "Open Office."

-------------------------**-------------------------

The logs also show Viewpoint Manager installed, Viewpoint Manager is considered as foistware instead of malware since it is installed without users approval but doesn't spy or do anything "bad". This changed from what we know in 2006 read this article:

http://www.clickz.com/news/article.php/3561546

I suggest you remove the program now. Click on start > run > and then paste the following into the "open" field: appwiz.cpl and press OK. From within Add or Remove Programs uninstall the following if they exist: Viewpoint, Viewpoint Manager, Viewpoint Media Player
Then, go to c: > program files and delete viewpoint folder.
.

Before we start fixing anything you should write/print out these instructions or copy/paste them to a NotePad file.

If you can not download and run the following tools, then I would like for you to try another approach:

***If you have the use of another computer please either use a Flash Drive or a CD to download the following and transfer them for use on the infected machine.
Be sure you put them on the desktop of the infected computer.

:step1: Open HijackThis, Click Do a system scan only, checkmark the following entries:

03 Toolbar: {A057A204-BACC-4D26-9990-79A187E2698E} - No File
03 Toolbar: {A057A204-BACC-4D26-C39E-35F1D2A32EC8} - No File

Then close all other windows and browsers except HijackThis and press fix checked.
Exit Hijackthis program.

:) Please download GooredFix from one of the locations below and save it to your Desktop
Download Mirror #1
Download Mirror #2
  • Very Important: Ensure all Firefox windows are closed!.
  • To run the tool, double-click it (XP), or right-click and select Run As Administrator (Vista).
  • When prompted to run the scan, click Yes.
  • GooredFix will check for infections, and then a log will appear. Please post the contents of that log in your next reply (it can also be found on your desktop, called GooredFix.txt).
:) Posted Image Your Java program is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malicious sites can use to exploit and infect your system.
Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components and update:
Download and Run JavaRA

Please download JavaRa and save the file to your desktop.
  • Right click and Extract All and a new folder called "JavaRa" will be extracted
  • Once extracted, open that folder and run JavaRa.exe with the picture.
  • Select your Language which is probably English
  • Click Search For Updates
  • Select Update Using jucheck.exe
  • Click Search
  • If a newer version is found, allow it to be installed (The current version is: "Java Runtime Environment (JRE)" JRE 6 Update 17.)
  • Uncheck the Google Toolbar option. (if you don't want the Google tool bar)
  • When complete, click Remove Older Versions in the JavaRa interface and allow it to proceed
  • When that is complete, click Additional Tasks, then select Remove Useless JRE Files and click Go
  • It will now begin to remove older versions. Please be paitent while it does the removal process.
  • Exit the tool when complete.
:) Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

Because some malware can be easily removed, we recommend Malwarebytes Anti-Malware be run. It's an advanced piece of software which should get a lot of what's on this machine. These guys are so on top of the latest infections it's amazing.

It's important to let me know however, if you experience any trouble getting to the site or updating it or opening it to run. Some rootkits target MBAM and those indicators are the 'tell', if you will. We have another method of double-checking for this rootkit, which if present, will require another special tool.

* MBAM
You already have Posted ImageMalwarebytes' Anti-Malware installed.
  • Open MBAM
  • Go to the updates tab, and click Update to update to the latest version
  • Once the program has updated, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected .
  • When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location and post the results.
  • Note: if you can not run a full system scan then retry with a quick scan.
    * Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be asked to reboot your computer so MBAM can proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately. Failure to reboot normally (not into safe mode) will prevent MBAM from removing all the malware.MBAM may "make changes to your registry" as part of its disinfection routine. If using other security programs that detect registry changes (ie Spybot's Teatimer), they may interfere or alert you after scanning with MBAM. Please temporarily disable such programs or permit them to allow the changes.
***NOTE: If MBAM will not install, try renaming it this way.
  • Right-click on the mbam-setup.exe file file and rename it to mysetup.exe.
  • Double-click on mysetup.exe to start the installation.
  • If that did not work, then try renaming and changing the file extension. <- click this link if you do not see the file extension
  • Right-click on the mbam-setup.exe file, rename it to mysetup and change the .exe extension to .scr, .com, .pif, or .bat.
  • Then double-click on mysetup.scr (or whatever extension you renamed it) to begin installation.
**If after installation, MBAM will not run, open the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware folder in Program Files.
  • Right-click on mbam.exe, rename it to myscan.exe.
  • Double-click on myscan.exe to launch the program.
  • If that did not work, then try renaming and change the .exe extension in the same way as noted above.
  • Double-click on myscan.scr (or whatever extension you renamed it) to launch the program.
If using Windows Vista, refer to How to Change a File Extension in Windows Vista.

MBAM Tutorial if needed

:step1: We need to see more information about what is happening in your machine. Please perform the following scan:

Run random's system information tool (RSIT)

Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet. Information on A/V control HERE

Please note that it is important that RSIT be run and a log created while in normal mode. *If you run it and create your log while in safe mode, you will be asked to redo it again properly.
  • Download random's system information tool (RSIT) by random/random and save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on RSIT.exe to run RSIT.
  • Click Continue at the disclaimer screen.
  • Once it has finished, two logs will open.

Please post the contents of both here in your next reply.

log.txt (<<--- will be maximized) and info.txt (<<--- will be minimized)

Hello again gasganopod, :step1:

Somehow those entries are not in your logs anymore, they were orphan entries, nothing to worry about.

I do not see the latest version of java installed in your system. You should have the latest version of Java:
(version 6 update 17). Older versions have vulnerabilities that malicious sites can use to exploit and infect your system. Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components:
Click "start" and then "Control Panel" icon.
Doubleclick the "Add or Remove Programs" icon
A list of programs installed will be "populated" this may take a bit of time.
Uninstall the following by clicking on the following entry and selecting "remove": Java™ 6 Update 16

Then...

Use the JavaRa step again and ensure that you install the latest version: 6 update 17 of java.

--------------*-------------

Before we begin, you should save these instructions in Notepad to your Desktop, or print them, for easy reference and to make sure you don't get lost.

Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order in which they are mentioned below and do not miss any steps out. If at any point you have questions, or are unsure of the instructions, do not hesitate to post here and ask for clarification before proceeding with the fixes.

:) Your computer is dangerously low on disk space. The partition with the system needs at least 15% Free Space, or it will bog down and run very slowly.

System drive D: has 13 GB (16%) free of 79 GB, (16%) free of 131 GB.

To help you with this chores please follow my instructions:

Go to Start, My Computer
Right-click on the hard-drive letter for the system, (usually C: ) In your case is D:
Uncheck the box labeled "Allow Indexing Service to index this disk for fast file searching"
If it asks whether to apply to all files and folders, answer Yes.

You may have to wait while it resets the file attributes!.

Reboot the machine.

Then....

:) Download and Install Posted ImageCCleaner
  • Download CCleaner from here
  • Double click on ccsetupXXX_slim.exe to start the installation of CCleaner. (XXX is the version number)
  • Click OK
  • Click Next
  • Click I agree
  • Click Next
  • Click Install
  • Once the installation has finished, click Finish
Set Options in CCleaner and run Cleaning Scan.
Open CCleaner if it's not already running.
( Do NOT use the Registry block to clean anything with this program. It is for experts only and it is risky).
  • Select Cleaner Settings.
Check Internet Explorer, Windows Explorer, and System so that all items are checked. In the Advanced section, have a check only on Old PreFetch Data.
  • Click on the Options block on the left. Select Advanced.
Uncheck Only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 48 hours.
  • Set Cookie Retention.
Click on the Options block on the left, then choose Cookies.
Under the Cookies to delete pane, highlight any cookies you would like to retain permanently (those companies or sites with which you regularly visit or do business), and click the right arrow > to move them to the Cookies to keep pane.
  • Run Cleaning Scan. Click on the Cleaner block on the left. Choose the Windows tab.
Click the Run Cleaner button. This process could take a while. When CCleaner shows how much has been removed, cleaning is finished.

Reset Options in CCleaner for Regular Use.
Open CCleaner if it's not already running.
  • Select Cleaner Settings.
Check Internet Explorer, Windows Explorer, and System so that all items are checked. Then under Internet Explorer, Uncheck "History". In the Advanced section, have a check only on Old PreFetch Data.
  • Click on the Options block on the left. Select Advanced.
Check Only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 48 hours.
  • Set CCleaner to Run When Computer Starts. Click on the Options block on the left, then choose Settings. Check Run Ccleaner when computer starts.
Then....

:( In addition to the steps above, you will likely have to move some files onto removable media in order to achieve the 15% free space that is needed. Please do so NOW!.

:)* TFC (Temp File Cleaner)
Lets clean up the temp files and make sure there are not any other leftovers.

Download: Posted Image to your desktop.
(TFC only cleans temp folders. It will not clean URL history, prefetch, or cookies).
  • Close any open windows.
  • Double click the TFC icon to run the program
  • TFC will close all open programs itself in order to run,
  • Click the Start button to begin the process.
  • Allow TFC to run uninterrupted.
  • The program should not take long to finish it's job
  • Once its finished it should automatically reboot your machine,
  • if it doesn't, manually reboot to ensure a complete clean
NOTE:
_It's normal after running TFC cleaner that the PC will be slower to boot the first time.

_TFC (Temp File Cleaner) will clear out all temp folders for all user accounts (temp, IE temp, java, FF, Opera, Chrome, Safari), including Administrator, All Users, LocalService, NetworkService, and any other accounts in the user folder.

:step1: * ESET Online Scan

Sometimes malware that is removed from your computer leaves other traces behind. These traces may not be active, but they are unwanted on your computer.
Therefore, by using ESET online scanner it is possible for us to find leftover or missed malware files on your computer and we can now further clean up your computer
.

You can use either Internet Explorer or Mozilla FireFox for this scan.
  • Please go here then click on: Posted Image

Note: If using Mozilla Firefox you will need to download esetsmartinstaller_enu.exe when prompted then double click on it to install.
All of the below instructions are compatible with either Internet Explorer or Mozilla FireFox.

  • Select the option YES, I accept the Terms of Use then click on: Posted Image
  • When prompted allow the Add-On/Active X to install.
  • Make sure that the option Remove found threats is NOT checked, and the option Scan archives is checked.
  • Now click on Advanced Settings and select the following:
    • Scan for potentially unwanted applications
    • Scan for potentially unsafe applications
    • Enable Anti-Stealth Technology
  • Now click on: Posted Image
  • The virus signature database... will begin to download. Be patient this make take some time depending on the speed of your Internet Connection.
  • When completed the Online Scan will begin automatically.
  • Do not touch either the Mouse or keyboard during the scan otherwise it may stall.
  • When completed select Uninstall application on close if you so wish, make sure you copy the logfile first!
  • Now click on: Posted Image
  • Use notepad to open the logfile located at C:\Program Files\ESET\EsetOnlineScanner\log.txt.
  • Copy and paste that log as a reply to this topic.
Note: If not malware is found, Eset will not produce a log.

:) * Run random's system information tool (RSIT) again and post the report log.

Summary of the logs I will need in your next reply:
  • The report log of ESET Online SCan
  • The log of RSIT.
And a description of any remaining problems.

How are things your end gasganopod???.

Again I would like to remind you to make no further changes to your computer unless I direct you to do so. Your computer fix will be based on the current condition of your computer! Any changes might delay my ability to help you.

Upon completing the above steps I will review your logs again and take the steps necessary with you to get your machine back in working order clean and free of malware.

Thanks.
Kind regards

NOTICE:
These steps are for member: gasganopod. ONLY. If you are a lurker, do NOT try this on your system! If you are not the topic starter and have a similar problem, do NOT post here; DO NOT follow these directions as they could damage the workings of your system. Please start your own topic.

Hello again gasganopod. :)

Sorry for the delay.

Eset online scan found mp3 infected files, trojans and Virtumonde infection, to get rid of those bad files we will use OTM to script them out of your system and I will like us to do another online scan this time with Kaspersky to ensure that is no leftover malware.

please follow my next set of steps:

:) Backup Your Registry with ERUNT
  • Install ERUNT
This tool will create a complete backup of your registry to ensure we have a safety net If something goes wrong. Do not delete the backup until we are finished.

  • Please download erunt-setup.exe to your desktop.
  • Double click erunt-setup.exe. Follow the prompts and allow ERUNT to be installed with the settings at default. If you do not want a Desktop icon, feel free to uncheck that. When asked if you want to create an ERUNT entry in the startup folder, answer Yes. You can delete the installation file after use.
  • Erunt will open when the installation is finished. Check all items to be backed up in the default location and click OK.
You can find a complete guide to using the program here:
http://www.larshederer.homepage.t-online.de/erunt/erunt.txt

When we are finished with fixing your computer (I will make it clear when we are), you can uninstall ERUNT through Add/Remove Programs. The backups will be stored at C:\WINDOWS\erdnt, and will not be deleted when ERUNT is uninstalled.

:) *Ensure you have disabled all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of OTM fixing tool.. Please visit HERE if you don't know how...Please re-enable them back after performing all steps given..

We need to execute an OTM Script.

Note: If you are running on Vista, right-click on the file and choose Run As Administrator).
  • Please download OTM by OldTimer and save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the Posted Image icon on your desktop to run it.
  • Copy the lines in the codebox below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right click and choose Copy.)
Do NOT include the word "CODE".

A word of advise: Altering system files; & or modifying the registry can be risky and BleepingComputer.com and its members cannot accept liability for any adverse effects caused by following advice freely given on this site.

:( Please perform an online scan with: Kaspersky WebScanner.
(Requires free Java Runtime Environment (JRE) be installed before scanning for malware as ActiveX is no longer being used.)
  • The program will launch and fill in the Information section ... on the left.
  • Read the "Requirements and Limitations" then press... the Posted Image ...button.
  • The program will begin downloading the latest program and definition files.
It takes a while... please be patient and let it finish.
  • Once the files have been downloaded, click on the Posted Image ...button.
In the scan settings make sure the following are selected:
    • Detect malicious programs of the following categories:
      Viruses, Worms, Trojan Horses, Rootkits
Spyware, Adware, Dialers and other potentially dangerous programs
    • Scan compound files (doesn't apply to the File scan area):
      Archives
      Mail databases
By default the above items should already be checked.
    • Click the Posted Image ...button, if you made any changes.
  • Now under the Scan section on the left:Select My Computer
  • The program will start and scan your system. This will run for a while, be patient... let it run.
Once the scan is complete, it will display if your system has been infected.
  • Save the scan results as a Text file ... save it to your desktop.
  • Copy and paste the saved scan results file in your next reply.
**Note**
To optimize scanning time and produce a more sensible report for review:
  • Close any open programs
  • Turn off the real time scanner of any existing antivirus program while performing the online scan.
:) * Run random's system information tool (RSIT) again and post the report log.

Summary of the logs I will need in your next reply:
  • The report log of OTM
  • The report log of Kaspersky online scan
  • The log of RSIT.
And a description of any remaining problems.

How are things your end gasganopod???.

Again I would like to remind you to make no further changes to your computer unless I direct you to do so. Your computer fix will be based on the current condition of your computer! Any changes might delay my ability to help you.

Upon completing the above steps I will review your logs again and take the steps necessary with you to get your machine back in working order clean and free of malware.

Thanks.
Kind regards

In order to see what's going on with your computer I will ask for you to post various logs from the tools that we will use to resolve your issue. Please also share with me any information about how your computer is reacting and behaving each step of the way as we work through this process.

Hello gasganopod,

Thanks for the log we are making some progress here.
:(

Can you please tell me: how is your computer behaving now? :(

Kind regards

Hello again gasganopod, Posted Image

Your logs appear clean of malware. :(

Kaspersky online scan does not delete anything it only scans and reports what if finds so, we need to clean up the quarantine bad files of housecall6.6 by uninstalling the program, and the ones that are in the moved files of OTM by using OTM again with the clean up option. Now we can get rid of the tools we used and the logs that they created from your computer. :(

I will give you some advises and I recommend to follow my next set of steps:

Please follow my next set of steps and instructions to help do that:

:) Now you should Create a New Restore Point to prevent possible reinfection from an old one.
Some of the malware you picked up could have been backed up, renamed and saved in System Restore. Since this is a protected directory your tools cannot access to delete these files, they sometimes can reinfect your system if you accidentally use an old restore point. Setting a new restore point AFTER cleaning your system will help prevent this and enable your computer to "roll-back" to a clean working state.

The easiest and safest way to do this is:
  • Go to Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools and click "System Restore".
  • Choose the radio button marked "Create a Restore Point" on the first screen then click "Next". Give the R.P. a name, then click "Create". The new point will be stamped with the current date and time. Keep a log of this so you can find it easily should you need to use System Restore.
  • Then use Disk Cleanup to remove all but the most recently created Restore Point.
  • Go to Start > Run and type: Cleanmgr
  • Click "Ok". Disk Cleanup will scan your files for several minutes, then open.
  • Click the "More Options" tab, then click the "Clean up" button under System Restore.
  • Click Ok. You will be prompted with "Are you sure you want to delete all but the most recent restore point?"
  • Click Yes, then click Ok.
  • Click Yes again when prompted with "Are you sure you want to perform these actions?"
  • Disk Cleanup will remove the files and close automatically.
Vista Users can refer to these links: Create a New Restore Point and Disk Cleanup.

:) OTM (Clean UP Option).

Since the tools we used to scan the computer, as well as tools to delete files and folders, are no longer needed, they should be removed, as well as the folders created by these tools. And by running: OTM clean up option will help you with this chores.

Double click on the Posted Image icon on your desktop to run it.
Then, click on Cleanup (Vista users, please right click on OTM.exe and select "Run as an Administrator").
OTM will search for and delete/uninstall all the tools that we have used to fix your problems and all their backup folders and then delete itself when you next reboot. At the end of the run you will receive a prompt to reboot, Please do so.
After the list has downloaded, you'll be asked if you want to begin cleanup process? Select Yes. When finished. OTM will remove itself.
(When you do this a list of malware removal programs will be downloaded from the internet. If you get a warning from your firewall or other security programs regarding OTM attempting to contact the internet you should allow it to do so.)

I recommend keeping ERUNT, TFC (Temp File Cleaner), and use Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware to scan your computer regularly.

If you don't plan to use: CCleaner, Kaspersky and ESET OnlineScan, housecall6.6 again, then uninstall them through Add/Remove Programs. You can also delete: JavaRa.exe and .zip and the log it created from your desktop.

If you have done all of the above, Your Computer should be Clean of Malware.
CONGRATULATIONS.
:)

Are things running okay? Do you have any more questions?

System Still Slow?
You may wish to try StartupLite. Simply download this tool to your desktop and run it. It will explain any optional auto-start programs on your system, and offer the option to stop these programs from starting at startup. This will result in fewer programs running when you boot your system, and should improve preformance.
If that does not work, you can try the steps mentioned in Slow Computer/browser? Check Here First; It May Not Be Malware

The following can help speed up your computer:

Defragment files (Drive C: or D:) Defragmenting is a must.
It's one of the large reasons for system slowdowns. I use JkDefrag to defragment. You can use it forever. I recommend installing it and de-fragmenting as soon as possible

To improve performance I recommend to check this LINK.

OK...gasganopod, I'm not skilled at mincing words but I believe that by now you already figure it out how you got infected.{Using File Sharing programs (P2P) Maybe} :step1: So, especially for you I will use my long version of my "All Clean Canned Speech".

Here are some advises and a list of tools and utilities that I like to suggest to people. This list is full of great tools and utilities to help you understand how you got infected and how to keep from getting infected again:

Please take the time to read below to secure your machine and take the necessary steps to keep it Clean, some of the following you may already have, So. just disregard them.
  • Make sure that you keep your anti-virus updated
New viruses come out every minute, so it is essential that you have the latest signatures for your anti-virus program to provide you with the best possible protection from malicious software.
Note: You should only have one anti-virus installed at a time. Having more than one anti-virus program installed at once is likely to cause conflicts and may well decrease your overall protection as well as impairing the performance of your PC.
  • Firewall Warning: Going over your logs I noticed that you are in need of a firewall with outbound protection

While the firewall built into Windows XP is adequate to protect you from incoming attacks, it will not be much help in alerting you to programs already on your PC attempting to connect to remote servers

Therefore, I strongly recommend that you install one of the following free firewalls: *PC Tool Firewall Plus or Zonealarm.
See Bleepingcomputer's excellent tutorial to help using and understanding a firewall: HERE

Important Note: You should only have one firewall installed at a time. Having more than one firewall installed at once is likely to cause conflicts and may well decrease your overall protection as well as seriously impairing the performance of your PC.

*If you choose the PC Tools Firewall Plus and you are asked to install ThreatFire do NOT do so.
*If you choose Zonealarm firewall, NOTE: During installation, uncheck the option to include the ZoneAlarm Spy Blocker toolbar as is unwanted.

After you install the third party firewall, please disable your Windows firewall.

Go to My Computer >> Control Panel >>
Windows Firewall and choose Off (not recommended) option. Then please click Apply and Ok.
  • Your Microsoft Windows installation is out of date.
Using unpatched Windows systems on the Internet are a security risk to everyone.
When there are insecure computers connected to the Internet, malware spreads faster and more extensively, distributed denial-of-service attacks are easier to launch, and spammers have more platforms from which to send e-mail. Whenever a security problem in its software is found, Microsoft will usually create a patch for it. After the patch is installed, attackers can't use the vulnerability to install malicious software on your computer. Keeping up-to-date with all these security patches will help prevent malware from reinfecting your machine.

Do you know that microsoft plans to provide support for Windows XP until 2014.??... So is better to get all the patches NOW!.
    Read this article:
    The Future of Windows XP

It will be in your best interest to update from XPSP2 (IE6) to XPSP3 and IE8
  • Security Updates for Windows, Internet Explorer & Microsoft Office
Whenever a security problem in its software is found, Microsoft will usually create a patch so that after the patch is installed, attackers can't use the vulnerability to install malicious software on your PC. Keeping up with these patches will help to prevent malicious software being installed on your PC. Ensure you are registered for Windows updates via Start > right-click on My Computer > Properties > Automatic Updates tab or visit the Microsoft Update site on a regular basis.
Note: The update process uses ActiveX, so you will need to use internet explorer for it and allow the ActiveX control to install.
  • If you are using Windows XP or earlier
Visit the Microsoft Update Website and follow the on screen instructions to setup Microsoft Update. Also follow the instructions to update your system. Please REBOOT and repeat this process until there are no more updates to install!!
  • Keep your non-Microsoft applications updated as well

Microsoft isn't the only company whose products can contain security vulnerabilities, to check for other vulnerable programs running on your PC that are in need of an update, you can use the Secunia Software Inspector - I suggest that you run it at least once a month.

Bottom line: the software you use every day is the biggest source of danger to your personal information. Keeping your software up to date is your best defense. You cannot afford to let vulnerabilities go unpatched.
  • Make Internet Explorer more secure
You are using Internet Explorer, Therefore please read and follow the recommendations at this SITE

    Click Start > Run
    Type Inetcpl.cpl & click OK
    Click on the Security tab
Click Reset all zones to default level
Make sure the Internet Zone is selected & Click Custom level
In the ActiveX section, set the first two options ("Download signed and unsigned ActiveX controls) to "Prompt", and ("Initialize and Script ActiveX controls not marked as safe") to "Disable".
Next Click OK, then Apply button and then OK to exit the Internet Properties page.
  • Backup regularly.
You never know when your PC will become unstable or get infected that you can't recover it. Follow this Microsoft article to learn how to backup. Follow this article by Microsoft to restore your backups.
Alternatively, you can use 3rd-party programs to back up your data. It can be found at Bleeping Computer.

==============***============

Recommended Programs:

To help protect your computer in the future I would recommend the download and installation of some or all of the following free programs (if not already present), and the updating of them on a regular basis:
.
  • WOT, Web of Trust, warns you about risky websites that try to scam visitors, deliver malware or send spam. Protect your computer against online threats by using WOT as your front-line layer of protection when browsing or searching in unfamiliar territory. WOT's color-coded icons show you ratings for 21 million websites, helping you avoid the dangerous sites:
    *Green to go
    *Yellow for caution
    *Red to stop
WOT has an addon available for both Firefox and IE.
  • WinPatrol
As a robust security monitor, WinPatrol will alert you to hijackings, malware attacks and critical changes made to your computer without your permission. WinPatrol takes snapshot of your critical system resources and alerts you to any changes that may occur without your knowledge. For more information, please visit HERE.
  • McAfee Site Advisor --free version.
To give you an indication of which sites may contain bad links or suspect downloads. It loads an icon to the taskbar of your browser (versions for IE and Firefox), As you browse, a small button on your browser toolbar changes color based on SiteAdvisor's safety results indicating the trustworthiness of the site you are on. Green for safe and Red for suspicious. Click on the icon to access details that SiteAdvisor has about the site. It also gives the same colour indications in the results page when you do a Google search, making it easier to decide which sites are safe to visit. The folks there check out websites and based on their findings, rate it as Safe, Unknown, Caution, or Bad. Safety ratings from McAfee SiteAdvisor appear next to search results. Works with Google, Yahoo!, Live Search, AOL or ASK.
This is a utility that can be downloaded and installed it from: HERE
  • SpywareBlaster
SpywareBlaster sets killbits in the registry to prevent known malicious ActiveX controls from installing on your computer. If you don't know what ActiveX controls are, see HERE. You can download SpywareBlaster from HERE.
  • ERUNT (Emergency Recovery Utility NT):
This utility allows you to keep a complete backup of your registry and restore it when needed. The standard registry backup options that come with Windows back up most of the registry but not all of it. ERUNT however creates a complete backup set, including the Security hive and user related sections. ERUNT is easy to use and since it creates a full backup, there are no options or choices other than to select the location of the backup files. The backup set includes a small executable that will launch the registry restore if needed.
You can get this utility from: HERE and instructions how to Practice "Safe Computer" with regular automated Registry Backups with ERUNT from: HERE
  • Hosts File - Hosts file is one such file that can be used to replace the Hosts file on your computer and help you to avoid accidentally visiting known nasty web sites.
For added protection you may also like to add a host file. A simple explanation of what a Hosts file does is HERE and for more information regarding host files read HERE.

Be sure to disable the service "DNS Client" FIRST to allow the use of large HOSTS files without slowdowns.
If this isn't done first, the next reboot may take a VERY LONG TIME.
This is how to do it. First be sure you are signed in as a user with administrative privileges:

Stop and Disable the DNS Client Service
Go to Start, Run and type Services.msc and click OK.
Under the Extended Tab, Scroll down and find this service.
    DNS Client
Right-Click on the DNS Client Service. Choose Properties
Select the General tab. Click on the Stop button.
Click the Arrow-down tab on the right-hand side at the Start-up Type box.
From the drop-down menu, click on Manual
Click the Apply tab, then click OK

Prevention:
  • The Hosts file can be made read only and monitored for changes, or attempted changes. Programs such as >WinPatrol< do this very well.
  • Cure:
If your Hosts file becomes infected, it can be reset by installing >HostsXpert<.
  • Extract (unzip) HostsXpert.zip to a a permanent folder on your hard drive such as C:\HostsXpert
  • Double-click HostsXpert.exe to run the program.
  • Click "Make Hosts Writable?" in the upper right corner (If available).
  • Click "Restore Microsoft's Hosts file" and then click "OK".
  • Click the X to exit the program.
  • Note: If you were using a custom Hosts file you will need to replace any of those entries yourself.
  • Use an alternative Internet Browser
Many of the exploits are directed to users of Internet Explorer. Try using a different browser instead:
    Firefox
    Opera
