Two nights ago my comp started creating lots of popups, so I scanned it with AVG and healed the detected infections. The popups stopped. However, AVG is still detecting a threat called giyesewu.dll. It doesn't seem to be able to get rid of it. For every instance it isolates, more are created.

Thanks a bunch for the quick response. Below are the results from the OTM log. It seems to be a little smarter than your instructions suggest. After geting to the point of clicking the red MoveIt button, it did ask me to reboot the machine to finish the move process. It made things a little easier on reboot by bringing up the log file in Notepad automatically. Yes I did verify that they were both created on 11032009_092441.

It may be noteworthy that upon reboot, I got the following error message:

Error loading c:\windows\system32\bitajeme.dll

The specified module could not be found.

Here are the contents of the log file:

Please note that the first link to MBAM that you posted above took me here:

Deactivated link

It did not download MBAM, but instead downloaded ARO, Advanced Registry Optimizer. I was able to exit that and tried the second link, which successfully got me to MBAM.

Thanks it does update locations from time to time.
You were redirected to an advertising site when you originally tried to download Mbam.
My links wer correct.
But please do refrain from posting links as you did as it can infect others that may click on it unknowingly.

Let's see what is left:
  • Double click on OTL to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.
  • When the window appears, underneath Output at the top change it to Minimal Output.
  • Under the Standard Registry box change it to All.
  • Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
  • When the scan completes, it will open one notepad window. OTL.Txt a This is saved in the same location as OTL.
  • Please copy (Edit->Select All, Edit->Copy) the contents of this file and post it with your next reply.

Please do not pm for help, post it in the forums instead.

If I am helping you and have not responded for 48 hours please send me a pm as I don't always get notifications.

My help is always free, however, if you would like to make a donation to me for the help I have provided please click here Posted Image
