I am on a fresh install ofXP Home on an OEM HP computer.

There is no longer any HP software on the computer.

The Drive is capable of reeading CDs but upon insertion of a DVD +r or a DVD movie it will act like it is trying to read and continue this loop.

Just now something strange happened the computer device manager showed that it was a cd rom drive instead of HL DT ST RW/DVD GCC 4481B and this happened just as I uninstalled the driver ??? Odd Blade 2 just showed up in the Explorer.

I will have to reboot to see what comes of this...but it shouldnt even be taking that long.

Should I have a DVD Player installed, what would be the cause of this problem.

Thanks

Safani
