I have just installed Win7 and it seems to be OK, but my HP LJ1018 is seen under "Printers & Faxes" as "unspecified". Rebooted with the cable attached, not attached, removed and replaced the cable, to no avail.
HP has no driver for this printer under Win7, but there is one under Vista, which I downloaded and installed, but still nothing.
I need this printer for my work, so this is a bit of a disaster for me. Can anyone help? Please?

I knew I should have waited for a year or so, until the wrinkles are ironed out.....

If the printer is plugged in, un-plug it. Make sure your computer is turned on, then plug the printer back in and turn it on. See if this works for Win 7 to recognize it now. You will also have to click on it and set it as your 'default' printer. (green check mark on it)
