I have a 7 year old Compaq with an "Original" AMD in it laying around and I would like to know some things.....

1) When I do My Computer > Properties it does not tell me the frequency from the processor
2) How can I figure out everything about the motherboard? Maker, model, type... etc.

I may think of more later. Thanks...

Everest is a great programme, and will tell you all about the hardware and software installed in the computer. I have it on a help disk and take it with me whenever I go to help others.

I would really like to know the socket type, is that possible?

Also, is there any way I could upgrade this computer? I mean, I am not expecting to get this up to a 3.0GHz P4, but I would like to put a P3 in it if possible.
